Manjakkudi village is in Kodavasal Taluk, Tiruvarur District of Tamil Nadu. With an area of 256 acres, and less than 1000 population, Manjakkudi is know world over as the birthplace of one of the most renowned spiritual leader and master of Vedanta, Swami Dayananda Saraswati. The village was earlier home to the revered Ramayana scholar Manjakkudi Sri Rajagopala Shastri. Located on the Kaveri delta, rice cultivation is the main activity. The past 15 years, with the establishment of 2 schools, TTN Swami Dayananda Higher Secondary School and the Swami Dayananda Matric School, and the Swami Dayananda College of Arts and Science, many people of the village are employed in these institutions. The first rural BPO was started by WIPRO in 2012 and more than 150 graduates work in this facility.
