Village- Dungari comprises of of the population who are now a very educated and cultured lot in the Block and now Tehsil also namely Syalde. It has a good population of ex-servicemen and also the serving defence and pra military personnel. Commander(Retd) Suresh Chandra Joshi is one of the senior ex-serviceman of this village. The village is located about half KM uphill from the main Motor Road at Turachaura coming from Ramnagar/Almora-Ranikhet side or from Masi-Choukhutiya/Dwarahat side via jainal. A connecting road to the village is considered very essential especially for the senior citiens of the village who find it difficult to climb up. The village has beautiful ancient temples of Goddess Bhawati Maa and Bhumia devta which are well look aftered by the village administration. Though most of the inmates of this village are not very rich but are well aware of their constitutional rights and duties and live in harmony and co-operation except very minor/trival personal rivalries among some of them. Late Shri Devi Dutt Shastriji who was the village pradhan for a long period of 10 years is a very popularly remembered personality by the people of this village and also the adjoining villages for his various developmental works done during his period. The Anand Madhyamik Vidyalaya at Dungari is is creation and also the water and forest preservation schemes for the village.Village Dungari has the honour to have produced Doctors, Engineers, Commisioned Defence Officers, JCOs/NCOs, Chartered Accountants, Lecturers, Principals,Political Leaders, Freedom Fighters, Social Activists, though most of them are settled in Big Metros like Delhi due to the lack of resources and facilities in the area as yet. However these people make it a point to visit the village once in a year and taken pain in renovating their ancestral houses and constructing WCs and Bath Rooms and contribute whatever is possible through their societies for the provision of common facilities for the villagers and beautification of the temples and surrounding areas. I feel our village will one day be adjudged one of the best villages of our Block Syalde and even District of Almora and State of Uttarakhand. However nothing as yet seen to have come from the Govt side as our only requirement of a jeepable road upto the village is long pending.
