About and History Of Elanagar

Elanagar village is about 10 KMs from Uthiramerur. Here Lord Srinivasa temple is there which was built up under instructions from Lord Balaji, Thirupathi. According to legend the Lord with his consorts gives varams for marriage, education, & child birth. The legend also narrates that seven azagia singers were born and lived here to worship this God. With the efforts of Elanagar Kaingarya Trust headed by Shri Sampath Iyengar,who has ancestral background to this place, four important festivals viz. Ramanuja Jayanthi, Thiruvadipuram, Desikar Utsavam and Panguni utsavam are celebrated here. Shri Krishnan of Perungalathur Mr. ES. Kannan and Narasimhan are taking interest for these festivals. Known for his divine powers the Lord gives his blessings to his devotees.
