Now Tigra is named as "ASHAPUR" it is 48 kms from Jodhpur, 30 kms from Bhopalgarh, 20 Kms from Pipar City This village is connected with Railway network and Nearest Railway station is KHERISALWA. There are about 200 houses in this village and dominatted by JAT's comunity. The literacy rate is 75% and about 95% population is farmers and depends on Kharif harvesting. About 50 youths are serving in Army/IAF/Navy / Para military forces & civil services. Ashapur is under Salwa Khurd Gram panchayat in Pipar city Tehsil (Newly imraised). This village had 2 open wells for water resources but now govt has connected this village with sweet water project (Manaklao - Khangata Paye jal yojana). There are two govt. Scools (one middle & one primery) in this village. This village was actually founded by three brothers. Due to three houses (Ghar in hindi) established by these brothers, the village was named Ti-ghara (Tigra) and after fulfilment of water expectations of villagers by digging up open well, a new name was given as Ashapur that means fulfilment of expectation (Asha-purna). This village has majority of Katania and Bhadu clans of Jat community. Some houses of Rao, Saain, Jakhar, Saran and Chhoil clans also exist there. Three main temples of the Gods Ramdev Ji, Thakur Ji and Mahadev Ji exist in the village. It is learnt that one named Lakha Ram Katania had major roll in naming this village.
