But by very frank admission ,the development of the village and its surrounding areas could not happen due to lack of facility of education. From our child hood ,we saw only one lower primary school functioning here. For further study,Katihar town was the nearest place where one had to commute daily by rail and this discouraged most of the then students to continue further study.

Due to lack of education, the area could not  continue with its original culture   and most of the so called few intellectuals gradually moved out of the village or made an alternate dwelling in the near by towns. Thus, what Rautara was 65/70 years back ,probably still the same with an exception one police station has come up .But the   Block office for this area is in Korha which is far more away and en-cumbersome to access than its district town Katihar. But even then, Rautara is still vibrant place between Katihar and Purnea towns.
