Kharika village is a famous village in Sonpur sub-division and block of Saran district, from where youths who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle were born and in 1954, late Rajendra Singh, a member of the Saran Lok Sabha, and in 1977, late Ramsunder Das became the chief minister of Bihar.  The land here is very fertile, the people here are very hardworking, here different castes of Hindu and Muslim religion live with love and brotherhood and participate in each other's festivals.
