Venkatarangapuram came to existence about year 1930 when sri singaraju chenchu subba rayudu ,the karanam of Garimenapanta requested the zamindar of that area panuganti parthasarathi for allotment of area for construction of a village as the Garimenapanta has no scope for development as it is surrounded by 2 tanks(Pedda cheruvu and chinna cheruvu).Zamindar has allowed to construct a village downstream of pedda cheruvu with a rider that the name of the village should be in his brothers name Venkata rangaiah. Accordingly the name of village was kept as venkatarangapuram. As Subbarayudu garu was well educated and strict follower of Mahara Gandhi, has laid the village with wide roads. The main road is 80 feet and others are 40 feet. Now though sri Subbarayudu the only brahmin family shifted to venkatarangapuram, other casts like vysyas are reluctant to shift. Mr.Subbarayudu has one muslim mudam(revenue helper)by name Sheik abbu saheb. He also shifted here.later more than100 muslim families and 30 to 40 balija families made their home in venkatarangapuram since the land they had is downstream of pedda cheruvu and they got sufficient land for housing and for cattle. The residents generally are engaged in building construction in other towns as they are poor and have to depend on south east monsoon for cultivation of meagre land they have which is 1 or 2 acres. Now many muslim youth went to gulf countries and better off.
