Bankuri is one of the beautiful village in the puri district.in this village there are many castes of people lives such as khandayat, chasa, teli, maharana, kandara are the major caste. There is no discriminate between them. This village carrying so many beautiful places such as there is a goddess narayani temple towards the east of the village and at the feet of the temple there is a large pond which creates the place more beautiful and attracts the people, there is a school named as bankuri primary school situated in the north of the village and there is a large jungle at the back side of the school. There is a large playground situated in the north of the village along with the school. Bay of bengal is near about 1 km to this village. The near tourist places from this beautiful village are konark, chandrabhaga, kakatpur maa mangala temple, jahania beach, beleswar lord siba temple and beach, astarang beach, nateswar siba temple, prachi river etc. And all places are within 20 km from the bankuri village.
