Bhagi bandar should actually be written as Bhagi Vander. It is approximately 700 year old village situated on Bathinda-Talwandi Sabo Road which is Bathinda - New Delhi highway. A jat sub caste ' Vander' started from this village in mid fourteenth century. Guru Gobind Singh's court poetPandit Bihari Lal Diwana was born in this village. He was head of all the poets in 'Lakhi Jangal'.About six villages originated from this village which include Kot Shamir ,Kaile vander , Laleana etc. More of the population is of agriculturists. But this village has given birth to businessmen,industrialists, teachers, professors and doctors too. With About 9000 population the village comprises of two gram panchayats. It has good public services like OBC Bank, Govt Ayurvedic Dispensary, Govt multipurpose Stadium, Govt Health Centre, Govt Sen Sec School, Electricity Complaint Centre, Focal Point and Suvidha cenre for public services.
