V BADAGA IS THE PLACE IN VIRAJPET TALUK WHICH HAS BE INHABITED MAINLY BY KODAVAS .There is a place called saingad meaning(Army forest) history tells that this is the place where all the kodava worriers joined together back under the leadership of kodava chiefs who attacked tippus fort and escaped with their king from periyapatna fort this is an even which has got a lot of historical value after the massacare of kodavas by tippu who chased them deep inside the forests where even birds could not enter by treachery.

The kodavas of V Badaga are also known for their contribution in indian armed forces famous personalities are Late Theethimada kalaiah who has served indian Navy as an officer and has served both Indo pakistan wars and was one of the person involved in bombarding the karachi port and to stop supplys to east pakistan current bangaladesh.

Theethimada late kuttamma kalaiah,Thamana kotermada and alsso wife of Theethimada .J.Kalaiah was the first kodavathi who served as a EO and also retired as assistent seceratory to government of karnataka.
