The origin of this village goes back to 1949 when the first settlers from Punjab commenced farming. Our farm was near the village and my father Sheo Raj Singh had settled here in 1956. the local folklore is that several earthen pots filled with assorted collection of glass bangles were discovered in the fields. Assumingly they were were ancient tribes who manufactured these items. Hence the name Manihar which would be the name of the people who were in this trade.

Farming activities increased at a tremendous pace here. I remember names notably Hari Srivastava, Several Sikh families also in the village. Our property was bordering the village and Dibdiba in the north. Those days were very simple and demands of the people were limited to a radio set. Tractors were expensive and not easily available so it was bullocks and bullocks carts and cycles. Gradually discontent crept in with family disputes in the village and unfortunately I had lost my father after a dispute with the Sikhs, Balkar Singh, Dheeraj Kumar and his friends. This is now history and I hope the villagers are doing well and progressing.
