Walye is a small kokani village in Rajapur Taluka, Dist. Ratnagiri. Walye lies on the southern most side of Ratnagiri district alongside the Bombay - Goa Highway (NH66) - 3 kms away. The by lane from highway passes through the dense forest which is infested with many animals like wild boars, deers, leopards. Vilawade (40 kms) and Rajapur (23 kms) are the nearest railway stations. There are very limited State Transport bus service. Small market place is Kondiye on NH66. Main market place is Kharepatan (10 kms) in Sindhudurg district. Shree Neena devi temple (gram devat) is jagruk devasthan. The small sitting of her brother named Vashik is there in the small forest near the village.  There is river flows through the village, hence the place is green throughout the year. Walye shelters the Tawade (sirname) and also guest like Sawant (Lakhan) Rane, Sakpal, Satam, Maniyar, Gurav, Bane and many more who dwells here in peace and harmony. Ganesh-utsav and Holi are celebrated here in spirited manner. People staying in Mumbai and Pune folks to Walye during the festive season.Cultivation of Rice (farming) is the main occupation of people in Walye. Besides fishing in local river is routine activity. The village is surrounded by tall mountains from 3 sides. One has to descend the mountain from NH66 to reach the village enroute Panhale village which shelters the Kadam's. Feels Proud to have roots in Walye.
