Panzath Spring is a Gem of the nature still hidden from the tourism map.

Entering Kashmir from Qazigund, a narrow road branches off the national highway about a kilometre ahead of the town. The snaky metalled road, shaded by dusty trees for the most part, leads to Panzath.
Panzath Nag a beautiful spring of Qazigund Anantnag is located in Tehsil Qazigund District Anantnag Kashmir. It is famous for its depth & clean water. The word Panzath is derived from a Kashmiri word Pass Hath Nag which means 500 Springs.
The village indeed has many springs, but none has counted anywhere close to five hundred, including Parvez Dewan, who writes about it in his book on Kashmir. It is also fed by a river, known as Panzath Naag
The 500 which flows in Panzath Spring supply water for nearly about 35 villages through PHE (Public Health Engineering Scheme) and other water management bodies, Trout Hatcheries are present in Panzath Spring and newly Dam is constructed for the purpose of water supply for another Villages. Many international Tourists are visit in Panzath Spring for its Beautifulness.
Kalhana mentioned Panzath(Pancahasta) as a favourite picnic spot of kings in his legendary chronicle Rajtarangini. Resident Umaisar Gull Said, Panzath Nag was famous for its rainbow trout. “Those old days of illiteracy were better than today’s when the water bodies were at least considered sacred”.
Government of J&K properly department of Tourism can't pay any attention towards this beautiful destination of Panzath Spring. Unfortunately we afraid that one day it may loss its shine, glory and it will be no more available for us we fear it may face Same catastrophes as of "Dal Lake" the reason being it gets pollute day by day and no one cares, no one is willing to protect It.
It is important that these hidden destinations are preserved and at the same time made accessible for the tourists. Proper infrastructure and accessibility provided to these destinations will bring in more tourist inflow and which in turn will also generate employment among the locals. If developed and managed properly Sure, It Will become Ist topmost Tourist Destination in Anantnag.
