Khadkalgaon has a famous temple of Khandoba. It is learnt that Shri. Bappaji Unhale was a staunch devotee of Khandoba at Mairal near Bidar and he used to go every month to Mailar to perform his puja. He never missed his trip till he became old and when he was unable to visit the temple, he requested Lord Khandoba at Mairal to do something for him and to his surprise Khandoba came in his dream early dawn and told him that he will come with him (Bappaji Unhale) wherever he wants him on one condition that early morning after performing his puja he can start his journey back to Barshi, the residence of Bappaji without looking back because Khandoba will follow him till he looks back. And where he looks back, Khandoba will remain there forever. So their journey from Mailar to Barshi started. When he came near Barshi and crossed a river (Chandani) Bappaji looked back and to the surprise of Bappaji he saw two small hips of haldi and kumkum there on the bank of the river where he was standing. Immediately he performed puja and constructed a temple at the place, which is available today in the same form. Many devotees have experienced miracles of Shri.Khandoba.
