My ancestors are the jodidars of the village till it was taken over by Revenue department of Karnataka during 1954-55. The village name when it was gifted to my ancestor late Ramacharya was known as "Chikka Devaraja pura.

In the village there are three important  temples : sri anjayana temple, Sri Lakshmi Narayana temple Someswara temple and garani lake.
